The Thai Engagement Ceremony is the traditional Thai equivalent of exchanging rings in a church wedding. The morning begins with the Khan Maak Procession, where the groom’s party takes part in fun games and symbolic “gate” challenges before reaching the bride.


Once he arrives, the engagement ceremony begins, followed by a tea ceremony with family and a traditional water blessing, where elders offer blessings for a happy marriage.


This is a relaxed, partially standing event, so please feel free to wander, enjoy the food stalls, and mingle throughout the morning as snacks, coffee and tea will be provided. The celebrations will finish after lunch around 1:00 PM, and guests are welcome to leave at their leisure.
